I would use Flickr to show pictures of science vocabulary terms we are studying. For example, we are currently studying different land forms such as deltas, alleuval fans etc. I would be able to post pictures on my blog of the different land forms. I could run into problems if I had pictures of students without permission. I enjoyed learning about flickr and plan on using it in the future!

I would use my blog to post homework, science investigation questions, or when tests or quizzes are scheduled. I could also use my blog for weekly news or science homework questions. I think the students and parents would find my blog very useful!

I found the video to be very interesting. The world seems so fast paced.....I hope our students will remember to stop and smell the flowers............ I look forward to learning the new and innovative approaches to help our students learn with technology. Everyday is a new and exciting challenge!

Science Standards for the month of February

* Standard E.SE

Develop an understanding of the properties of Earth materials and how those properties make materials useful. Understand gradual and rapid changes in Earth materials and features of the surface of Earth.

* E.SE.M.1 Soil...... Soils consist of weathered rocks and decomposed organic materials from dead plants, animals, and bacteria. Soils are often found in layers with each having a different chemical composition and texture.

Week of Jan.30th

Learning Goals:

*Describe how soil is a mixture made up of weather eroded rock and decomposed organic material.

*Compare different soil samples based on particle size and texture.

*Explain how physical and chemical weathering lead to erosion and the formation of soils and sediments.
